Management in library and information activities

From 03 to 13 December 2019 in accordance with the plan of the center for distance education and professional development of Abai Kazakh national pedagogical University for the staff of the scientific library of the University a course «Management in library and information activities» (80 hours) was held.

The program of the course is aimed at familiarizing specialists with the latest achievements of science in the library industry, advanced domestic and foreign experience, improving the managerial competencies of library managers necessary for effective library management in the modernization of librarianship, preparation for work on updating its structure and content and modernization of librarianship.

During the course, the Director of the library of Al-Farabi KazNU, PhD. Tulenbayeva Kalima Tuleubayevna lectured on the topics: «Information service and database administration (on the example of IRBIS 64)», «Library management as a modern concept of library management», «Digitization of the Fund», «Methods and tools of qualimetric monitoring of University libraries», «Implementation of automated books using RFID system», «Ensuring inclusive education in the library», «library Marketing environment», etc.

The students of the courses got acquainted with the work of the library of Al-Farabi Kazakh national University, «Elbasy Library» of the Kazakh national agrarian University, scientific library of the Kazakh-British technical University, The national library of Kazakhstan, S. Begalin state children`s library and the city youth library named after Zhambyl.
