Presentation of the book by M. K. Koigeldiev «I absolutely do not plead guilty!»

On December 26, 2019, in the hall named after N. Dauletova of the National library of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the Ministry of culture and sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a presentation of the book «I absolutely do not plead guilty!» about the history of the protest movement in Kazakhstan of the 60-80s of the last century. The author-compiler of this publication is a famous scientist, academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mambet Koigeldiev.

The presentation was attended by public figures, professional scientists, historians, professors, undergraduates and doctoral students of Abai KazNPU, representatives of the media.

Talking about his work, Mambet Koigeldiev noted that the book for the first time published documentary materials of the Department of control over investigative cases in the security organs of the Prosecutor`s office of the USSR. Until recently, it was impossible to get acquainted with these materials, they were forbidden and kept under the stamp «top secret». Published archival documents testify to the continuity of the struggle and unrest against the social policy of the central government, especially about the position of citizens of our republic on national issues until the last moment of the existence of the Soviet Union. The book also presents interviews of participants and witnesses of the protest movement in 1960-1980.
