Science and grant funding in private foundations: experience of research activities of a non-governmental organization

On April 11, 2020, research Professor of the Department of political science and socio-philosophical disciplines of the Institute of history and law Asanbayev M. B. held an online seminar on the ZOOM platform. The online seminar «Science and grant funding in private foundations: experience of research activities of a non-governmental organization» was attended by teachers of the Department, master students and PhD doctoral students.

During the online event, information about foreign and Kazakhstan private foundations and an analysis of their activities in the field of science and education financing were presented. Why does an applicant`s application for a grant/project usually not receive approval? What are the main steps for success in this case? Can private foundations become an alternative source of funding for science and scientists? These and other issues were also discussed during the workshop. In addition, interesting results of modern research on the impact of social networks were shown. In the final part of the webinar, participants discussed current issues and features of grant financing in private foundations in Kazakhstan.
