G.I. Isimbayeva was elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of

NJSC «Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University»

On January 21, 2021 the meeting of the Board of Directors of the non-commercial joint-stock company «Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University» was held.

The Board of Directors elected Isimbayeva Gulmira Istaybekovna as a Chairman of the Board of Directors of non-commercial joint-stock company «Kazakh National Pedagogical University».

Isimbayeva Gulmira Istaybekovna is a well-known state and public figure, a deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan of the fourth and fifth convocations, Deputy Chairman of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the sixth convocation, for many years worked as head of the Education Department of Almaty city.

At a meeting of the Rectorate of Abai KazNPU Minister of Education and Science Askhat Aimagambetov said that the Ministry offered Gulmira Istaibekovna to head the Board of Directors of the oldest university in the country, taking into account her extensive experience in education and her great contribution to law-making, directly in the discussion and adoption of laws «On Education», «On the Status of the teacher» and others.

In her speech, Gulmira Isimbayeva said that on January 15, 2021, Head of the State Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the opening of the first session of the VII Parliament, named the development of human capital among seven priorities. In addition, he gave specific instructions to bridge the gap in the quality of education between regions and different social groups. These commissions concern directly the issues of training of qualified personnel. Gulmira Istaybekovna also assured that the Board of Directors jointly with the staff of the University will contribute to the implementation of the instructions of Elbasy N. Nazarbayev and President K. Tokayev, as well as the further development of the leading educational institution of the country.

In addition, at the same meeting, the Board of Directors announced a competition for the position of Chairman of the Board - Rector of the non-profit joint-stock company «Kazakh National Pedagogical University».
