On February 22, 2021, within the framework of the bilateral agreement between the Sofia Kliment Ohridski University (Bulgaria) and Abai KazNPU, there was organized an international interactive webinar »Philologist in digital format».
The webinar was moderated by postdoctoral fellow Bayan Sapargalieva and coordinator of international programs at Sofia University, Director of the Al-Farabi Scientific, Educational and Cultural Center Violetta Dobichina. Technical support for the digital webinar was provided by the teacher of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation Yerlan Sambetov.
Professor Madeleine Danova, Dean of the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology at the University of Sofia, made a presentation on «Modern methods of teaching foreign literature and foreign languages». On behalf of our university, Zabira Eshimbetova, Professor of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation at the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education, made a presentation on «Digital Technology in Philology».
The webinar was attended by about 100 trainees and specially invited guests from universities in Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan. In particular, representatives from Tajik State University, Bukhara State University and Kyrgyz National University. In addition, J.K.Tynystanova from Balasagun Issyk-Kul State University, representatives of Ala-TOO International University and Uzgen International College took part; teachers and students from Kazakh National Women`s teacher training University, K.Zhubanov Aktobe Regional University, South Kazakhstan State University, M.Auezov Civil Aviation Academy and Abai KazNPU also showed interest.
The participants of the International webinar spoke about new methods of digitizing education and training, the need to move to a new and simpler approach that will help improve the level of teaching, and also expressed some general views and suggestions. The webinar focused on the importance of increasing the role of the teacher, motivation for independent creative work, and developing the creative thinking of a modern teacher to fulfill their duties. Topical issues of continuing education of young people were discussed. It was noted that the training of teachers who are able to meet the requirements of the time will continue, and at the end of the seminar, the participants expressed respect for each other. It was noted that such meetings on such an urgent issue are very useful, and the need for regular meetings was emphasized.
