Student international online conference of the University of Tsukuba


On March 18-19, 2021, the University of Tsukuba (Japan) held a student (postgraduate) international online conference on the topic: «Education in a Time of Pandemic Through the Eyes of Graduate Students: Challenges and Perspectives», which brought together participants of pedagogical universities from 8 countries (Kazakhstan, Russia, Poland, Thailand, Korea, New Zealand and China).

The purpose of the conference is to exchange views on education during the COVID-19 pandemic and discuss problems and prospects after it, as well as create a platform for future young scientists with different academic and cultural backgrounds to discuss practices and challenges during these difficult times.

The conference included four thematic sections: «The obstacles we ourselves have faced, how we have tried to overcome them, and lessons and new perspectives gained through such experiences», «The obstacles we have seen in primary and secondary schools, how they have tried to overcome them, and lessons and new perspectives for the schools «, « The problems and sudden changes we have seen in the communities (such as lockdowns and other stay-at-home restrictions, wealth disparity, regional disparity, digital divides, etc.), how we have overcome them, and lessons and new perspectives for the communities», «Creative and innovative proposals for making use of pandemic experience for better education programs at schools, especially at universities».

An official invitation of Professor Yoshiyasu Ida allows attending this conference by the master and doctoral students from the Institutes of Pedagogy and Psychology, Philology and Multilingual Education of our University. Our doctoral students of the Department of Pedagogy and Psychology Alena Gubenko and Rumilyam Mukhpulova, as well as master`s student Guldana Begimbetova, presented as speakers under the supervision of the head of the department, Prof. Aygerim Kosherbayeva and the Department of International Cooperation on the topic: «Innovative thinking and transformation of the educational environment during covid-19 in Kazakhstan».

The outcome of the two-day conference will be the publication of a compendium of participants.
