Family preservation counseling during a pandemic

On April 29, 2021, the UNESCO Department of Educational Science and Teacher Training of Abai KazNPU held a webinar for teachers and students. Invited speaker-Kabakova Maira Pobedovna, Professor of the Department of General and Applied Psychology, Director of the Center for the Study of Family Values of al-Farabi Kazakh National University made a report «The institute of family in Kazakhstan: current state and problems».

In her report, Maira Pobedovna highlighted the most pressing problems of our society. She spoke about the statistics of divorces during the pandemic, which became higher, and advised how to save marriage and relationships. The speaker informed about the free consultation for all those in need. The participants of the event listened with interest and discussed family problems, as well as asked questions. At the end of the webinar, the speaker Maira Pobedovna thanked the university administration and the UNESCO Chair for the invitation, and also informed the participants that she was ready to provide psychological assistance within the framework of the UNICEF project.
