Journey to the Oriental World


In the framework of the Decade of Science on April 8, 2022 teachers of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation of the Institute of Philology held an event «Journey to the Oriental World».

 

Students of 1-4 years of department actively participated and tried to show their skills in the studied languages, culture and traditions of Kazakhstan and other countries. In particular, senior lecturers Masimova H., Baratova Sh. and Autova G. organized an exhibition, where the national peculiarities of Uyghur people`s customs were represented.

 

The 4th year student Aruna Utemgalieva showed national instruments, clothes, Uyghur food, books, textbooks and periodicals in Uyghur language.

 

As part of the event, organized by senior teachers Almabekova A. and Raeva A., students of the Chinese department learned the Chinese folk way of brewing tea, presentation of types of this ancient drink and the tea-drinking ceremony.

 

The theatrical performance in which verses and excerpts of works of Abay in Arabic language were performed by students of the Arabic department, organized by senior teachers Orazova R.K., Kenseitova E.J., Dr. PhD N.N.Konkabayeva made a good impression on the audience.

 

Students under the direction of teachers of Turkish language E.Esbosynov, G.Satbay, N.Kospaganbetova and D.Ashimova presented traditional Turkish national costumes, read poems, performed folk dances and sang songs in Turkish language. They also showed samples of Turkish folk art `embroidery` and presented hand-knitted handkerchiefs to participants who actively took part in the event.

 

At the end of the event, Director of the Institute of Philology A. V. Tanzharykova, Deputy Director A.A. Naymanbayev, Head of the Department K.H. Abdrakhmanova and one of the leading teachers of «Aysaf» school, graduate of our university A.Mukanova, who was invited as a distinguished guest, expressed their gratitude to all teachers and students of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation.
