On April 15, 2022, Darhan Bilyalov, Chairman of the Board, Rector of Abai KazNPU held a meeting with the students of the university in the format of Town Hall. The purpose was to raise awareness of the rules and conditions of the National Qualification Testing (NQT).
Maktagali Bektemesov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, and directors of departments attended the event.
Darkhan Bilyalov noted the importance of the procedure for future educators. «We are training future educators, and successful quality of education is important to us. The future of the country depends on you. That`s why every graduate should take the NQT with responsibility. Professors and pedagogues of our university have given you knowledge and shared professional experience. You should use all resources to prepare for the National Qualification Test. All conditions have been created by the university to pass it,» the Rector said.
It was emphasized that improving the quality of education is directly related to the professionalism of teachers, and is the basis for the effective work of each educational organization. Therefore, the certification is important as a tool to determine the qualification level of future teachers.
Maktagali Bektemesov spoke in detail about the rules and conditions of passing the NQT, the feasibility and necessity of the innovation among final year students, as it is aimed at enhancing the quality of teachers. Only after passing the National Qualifying Test will they be hired, he said.
The Abai University Testing Centre has launched a pilot test for final year students to prepare them for NQT. Each of them can take mock test in special subject and pedagogy and teaching methods at any convenient time, anywhere, from any device. The university library is equipped with teaching and methodological packages (subjects, pedagogy, teaching methods) to prepare for the National Qualifying Test.
The informal meeting with the students was very active: questions were asked regarding the teaching process, the format of exams, transfer to grants and others.
