Pilot project «Creating teaching classes» continues

The second quarter has begun in the country`s schools. For our university, this is also a significant event. In Abai KazNPU a creative group consisting of Rector D.N.Bilyalov, Vice Rector for Academic Affairs M.A.Bektemesov, Vice Rector for Social Development Sh.N.Nurlanov, Director of Academic Affairs Department H.N.Zhanbekov, Head of Pedagogy Department Sh.Zh.Kolumbayeva, Associate Professor of Pedagogy Department B.S.Saidakhmetov developed a pilot project «Creating teaching classes». Its implementation began in September 2022.

The participants of the pilot project on the basis of partnership are the Republican secondary boarding school for gifted children named after Abai and general education schools No. 154 named after K. I. Mandoka, «School-gymnasium No. 81» of the Almaty Department of Education and Abai KazNPU.

The aim of the project is early profiling of schoolchildren into pedagogy, formation of students` interest to the teaching profession and positive attitude to the possibility of self-realization in pedagogical activity. The program of pedagogical classes includes study of 4 modules: Secrets of the Pedagogical Profession; Fundamentals of Pedagogy for Schoolchildren; Psychological and Pedagogical Self-Discovery; «I am an Educator of the 21st Century».

Students are already familiarized with the history of emergence and formation of the pedagogical profession, activities and ideas, real personalities - educators, thinkers and educators of the past, including Al-Farabi, Abai Kunanbayev, Y. Altynsarin, K. Nurgaliev, and others, as well as the image of the ideal teacher, created in works of literature and art. Classes are conducted in an interactive mode. The classes create a collaborative environment, a psychologically comfortable atmosphere of trust and support, conditions for interpersonal interaction, self-expression and familiarity of students with their future profession.
