17 November - World Philosophy Day!

World Philosophy Day has been celebrated by UNESCO since 2002 on the third Thursday of November. At the eve of this international celebration, the opening ceremony of Philosophy Week was held on November 9, 2022 by the Department of Political Science and Social and Philosophical Disciplines of the Institute of History and Law, in cooperation with the student self-government organization «Nurdekanat». The theme was «Philosophy of XXI Century: Actual Problems».

The opening ceremony was attended by teaching staff, students and deputy director for educational and social work Nurlan Manapov. Zhomart Simtikov, Head of the Department of Political Science and Social and Philosophical Disciplines, wished the students success in holding the Week at the highest level and congratulated all philosophers of the country and the world community, as well as future specialists in this field with the upcoming World Philosophy Day. The main aim of the knowledge-sharing event was to enhance the role of philosophy in modern society and to involve students as much as possible.
