Winter School session

On January 9, 2023, the opening ceremony of another week of the Winter School for Educators was held at Abai KazNPU. It will last until January 13.

The aim of the event is to develop professional skills and competencies to enhance the effectiveness of academic policies and research as well as to build the capacity of teachers to meet the requirements of the new Kazakhstan. During the Winter School, teachers have the opportunity to explore and apply modern technologies, methodologies and techniques in teaching students.

Opening the session, Chairman-Rector Darhan Bilyalov said the meeting was of particular importance. «In accordance with instructions of the Head of State in his Address to the people of Kazakhstan the Concept of Development of Education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2022-2026 was adopted. The main principles of education development, along with the formation of a conscious and well-rounded citizen in the secondary education system, include the training of teachers of a new formation and modernization of teacher education. As earlier, we will discuss and realize the set tasks, i.e. introduce the necessary knowledge and experience that the university imparts to the new generation, as well as issues of formation of quality pedagogical capital», Darkhan Biljalov said.

Then the Vice-rector for academic affairs Gulzhan Zharasova made a presentation on the projects of teacher training and pedagogical education that meet the requirements of modern society. The report dealt with the optimization, improvement and digitalization of the teaching process and summarized the results of the past academic year for the educational programs of the university.

Adilya Baidildina, Director of the Educational Program Design Department, said that the issues addressed at the Winter School session are of great interest and support to the scientific audience. She also stressed the results of the ongoing work, constant communication between the teaching staff and Univer system, feedback from students, noting the importance of the full implementation of activities to be carried out in the coming months.

During the Winter School current issues in the field of education were discussed: trends in teacher education, basics and specifics of academic and scientific writing, innovative modern methods of teaching in teacher education, student-centred learning, teaching methods, digitalisation of higher education, ensuring and improving the quality of education in the context of digital transformation.

Directors of the Institutes and their deputies, heads of departments, faculty members took part in the Winter School session.
