Seminar «Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions: International Visibility of HEIs»

On February 23-24, 2023 the Seminar «Internationalization of Higher Education Institutions: International Visibility of HEIs» was organized by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Satbayev University. The event brought together representatives of universities from across the country, working internationally, to discuss obstacles and opportunities on the road to internationalization of education and to consider together how to address these challenges.

Leaders of regional HEIs not only shared their experiences in opening university branches abroad and establishing strategic partnerships, but also talked about methods of overcoming the difficulties encountered.

Speakers at the seminar included staff from the US Embassy, the British Council, the Erasmus+ National Office and specialists responsible for migration issues. Various international grants and education programs were offered. Aktolkyn Kulsarieva, Vice-rector of Abai University for Strategy, Digitalization and Internationalization, shared the university`s experience in effective implementation of joint and double degree programs.

The workshop, which lasted for two days, was successful and fruitful, with topical issues discussed and recommendations given for their solution.
