On April 12 in Kazakhstan the professional holiday - the Day of Scientific Workers is celebrated by scientists of all spheres of this most important branch of development of mankind. Abai KazNPU, which carries out fruitful scientific work, is certainly not standing aside of this event. Thus, each year, in the first days of April, the country`s oldest university opens a Decade of Science, in the framework of which conferences, seminars, exhibitions, meetings of scientists and other scientific activities are held, with the participation of young teachers and students, demonstrating an active interest in research activities.

The Decade of Science has become a tradition at our university and it is particularly pleasant that now it is held in the anniversary year - the 95th anniversary of Abai KazNPU. Such outstanding scientists and statesmen as S.Asfendiyarov, S.Seifullin, A.Baitursynov, H.Dosmukhamedov, T.Zhurgenov, I.Kabulov, the Hero of the Soviet Union M.Gabdullin and others have worked and created within the walls of university.

Over the years, the university formed scientific schools in many fields of science. The impact of research schools on the formation of the international image of the University is obvious: in the ranking of QS World University Rankings Abai KazNPU in 2023 takes 511-520th place in the world, for Kazakhstan - 6th. In the QS World University Rankings by subject, the university is ranked 1st in the country in the Arts and Humanities. Koygeldiev Mambet is an outstanding specialist in the field of new history of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He is the author of more than 400 publications on the history of the national liberation movement of the Kazakh people, the activities of the national political elite, in particular, Alashorda, on political repression in Kazakhstan. He is the leader of a number of scientific projects on grant financing of the Ministry of National Assembly of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the co-manager of projects on purpose-oriented financing. Trained 17 PhDs, 3 PhDs.

He is the Honorary Professor of International University of Vienna (Austria 2007), Honorary Professor of Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda State University, President of Association of Historians of Kazakhstan. Holder of the title of "Best teacher of the university" (2012), Knight of the Order "Parasat" (2013), Order "Barys" III degree (2019).

Abylkasymova Alma is an Honorary Scientist, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Russian State Academy of Education (Moscow), Director of the Centre for Development of Teacher Education, Head of the Department of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics Teaching Methodology. She is the leader of the national scientific school on the strategy of development of continuous pedagogical education, methodology and didactics of subject teaching methods. She has trained 11 Doctors of Science and over 30 PhDs, 4 PhDs. She is the author of over 500 research papers, including 30 monographs, encyclopedic and terminological dictionaries, and textbooks in mathematics, algebra and elementary analysis for schools in Belarus. She was awarded the title of Honoured Worker of Kazakhstan, Knight of the Order of Kurmet and Parasat, conferred many state awards, winner of the International Prize Ilham (2013).

Yermek Buribayev - Doctor of Law, Professor, Academician of the National Law Academy, Member of the Board-Principal for research activities of Abai KazNPU. Three times in a row entered the top 50 scientists teachers of universities in Kazakhstan in the national ranking in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Twice in a row by Elsevier-Scopus and MES RK recognized as the Best Researcher in Social Sciences in the category "Best Researcher in Social Sciences" (2018, 2019). More than 300 scientific papers have been published. Author of 9 monographs, 4 monographs published by foreign publishers, including 3 monographs in English, 6 monographs indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). Author of 1 textbook and 3 textbooks. More than 60 articles were published in foreign journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. Hirsch index in Scopus - 15, Hirsch index in WoS - 5. In 2015, he was awarded the M.V. Lomonosov Gold Medal by the European Industry Consortium for his significant contribution to the national science. Zhampeisova Korlan is a corresponding member of the International Academy CONCORD (France, 2014), doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor of the Department of Pedagogy. She has formed a scientific school on the problem of national education and self-knowledge of students, developed a number of concepts on modernization of higher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan, on implementation of national ideas "Mangilik El" and "Rukhani Zhangyru". Author more than 180 publications including first Kazakh textbooks in English "Pedagogics", "Theory and Methods of Educational Work", "Education Management" and textbook on national education "National Education". He has awards "Excellent worker of education of the RK", "Honourable worker of education of the RK", "Y. Altynsarin", "For merits in development of science of the RK".

Vladimir Kosov - Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the National Academy of Sciences of RK, Head of the Physics Department. He was included in the top 50 scientists-teachers of RK universities according to the results of the National Ranking in 2020, 2021 and 2022. Under his leadership in Kazakhstan is developing the scientific direction related to the study of diffusion and convective instability in multicomponent media. In 2017, he presented the author`s project "Device for separation of hydrocarbon gas mixture" at the world exhibition EXPO in the national pavilion "Kazakhstan" in Astana. The scientific research of Kosov V.N. is supported by grants of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. He has published over 300 scientific articles, 4 monographs and 15 patents (including 1 international), 2 textbooks for high schools. Has own scientific school. Trained 2 Doctors of Physics and Mathematics, 8 Candidates of Sciences, 2 PhDs. Holder of state scientific scholarship of Kazakhstan in 2002, 2006, the title "The best teacher of the university" (2017). Currently he is a member of the Board of the Kazakhstan Society of Physicists. Holder of the Order "Kurmet" (2022).

Orazbaeva Fauzia - Corresponding member of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Scientific and Practical Centre "Latyn". She is a prominent specialist in the sphere of communicative linguistics, lexicology, semasiology, and methodology of teaching Kazakh language. Author of more than 300 works, including 6-level training complex of teaching the Kazakh language based on European and international standards (DALF/DELF, IETS, TOEFL, etc.), and Kazakh language course DEMO, developed jointly with the Israeli language centre "Edusoft". Trained 11 doctors and 40 PhDs. Leader of a number of research projects financed by the grant of the Ministry of National Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, at present she is leading the project "Methodology of level paradigms: reading and writing". Holder of Ch. Valikhanov Award for the best research in the field of humanities, awarded by Parasat Order, has the title of Honoured Worker of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Berdyshev Abdumauvlen - doctor of physical and mathematical sciences, professor, head of the Department of Mathematics and Mathematical modeling of Abai KazNPU. He is the author of more than 200 scientific publications, 4 monographs in such fields as: partial differential equations, local and non-local boundary value problems for the non-classical equations of mathematical physics, equations of mixed and mixed-complex types, numerical methods, mathematical modeling. Total number of publications in Scopus - 38, the total number of citations listed in Scopus - 207 on 144 papers. He is the manager of a number of scientific projects on grant funding of the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Holder of State Research Scholarship (2017); State Grant "Best University Teacher" (2011), the title of "Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan" (2008), awarded the I. Altynsarin Medal (2006).

Zhanna Khamzina - Doctor of Law, Professor, Professor-researcher of Abai KazNPU, member of the National Scientific Council on the priority "Research of Social Sciences and Humanities". Three times in 2020-2022 she was included in the top 50 scientists-teachers of RK universities according to the results of the National Academic Ranking (NAAR). Holder of grant and title of "Best University Teacher", awards "Best Researcher in Social Sciences", 1st Scopus Award Ceremony, Elsevier 2018. More than 250 scientific works have been published. Author of 5 textbooks, 3 study guides, 9 monographs, 4 monographs published by foreign publishers, including 3 in English, 6 monographs indexed in the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI). More than 50 articles were published in foreign journals indexed in Web of Science and Scopus. Hirsch index in Scopus is 15, Hirsch index in WoS is 5. She is a leading researcher in the field of legal support of social protection of population, hired labour, employment of population, problems of civil procedure, international law, gender equality, development of guarantees of social rights of family and children, and also mechanisms for realization of constitutional right to qualified legal assistance. Akhmetzhan Akhmetzhan is a scholarship holder of the State Research Scholarship 2022.

Akhmetov Bakhytzhan - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor of the Department of Informatics and Informatization of Education. He was included into TOP-50 scientists-teachers of RK universities in 2022. He is an author of more than 400 scientific, educational and methodical works, patents, including 5 monographs and 7 textbooks. The area of his scientific interests is connected with the issues of energy-saving technologies, biometric methods of information protection, informatization of education and management. Hirsch index - 6, citation statistics - 207. Project Manager for grant financing of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan (MES RK), Co-Director of the program-targeted financing projects. Trained 17 PhDs and doctoral candidates. Holder of the grant "The best university teacher of the year 2017".

Abdigapbarova Uljarkin - Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Director of the Department of Science. She formed an advanced scientific school in line with modern trends of the world pedagogical science: leadership in education, dual education, national education, student-centered learning. She made a significant contribution to the implementation of the national project "Spiritual and Moral Education in Kazakhstan". She supervised the works on preparation of the National report on state and development of education system, development of logic tests, organization and conduction of international research TIMSS, PISA and others. She is an author of more than 300 scientific and methodical works, including 5 monographs, 1 concept, 11 textbooks, 16 manuals. Trained 5 candidates of pedagogical sciences, 8 PhDs. Chairman of Dissertation Council 6D01 (8D01). Head of a number of research projects of grant funding of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, research team of the project for modernization of education and science for 2021-2023. Co-director of the international project on internationalization of education with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg (FAU) and Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University (ASPU) (2020-2023).
