Meeting of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan S. Nurbek with students

On June 10, 2023, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek met with students from 25 regional universities. The main goal of the meeting, organized by the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, is the localization of the courses of the educational platform "Coursera" in the Kazakh language.

The meeting was attended by the CEO of Coursera Inc. Jeff Mahjonkald, President of Universities, Provost for Academic Affairs and Director of Departments, as well as students who showed the best results in completing Coursera courses. Master student of the 1st year of the specialty "Preschool education and upbringing" of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology, Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay Mirasbek Gulim was awarded the nomination "Distinguished Excellence Award". The award ceremony was held at the IT University in Astana. At the opening of the event, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek noted the main goal of the Coursera project and further prospects for the development of this area of work. In more detail about the tasks and plans for the development of the educational platform "Coursera" said the General Director Jeff Madzhonkalda and the general sponsor of this project, the Chairman of the Public Fund "Kazakhstan Khalkyna" Zhamishev Bolat Bidakhmetovich.
