Minister of Science and Higher Education of RK Sayasat Nurbek visited Abai University
 

On July 21, 2023, as part of his visit to Almaty, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek visited Abai University.

During the meeting with the Minister, Rector Darkhan Bilyalov presented full information on the concept of development of the university infrastructure and showed the work of the Multimedia Studio of interactive video recording "EdSmart Premium Led Doska" and the KazDual Observatory. Both facilities are equipped with advanced technologies and are actively used in the educational process. The visit aroused great interest from the guests and allowed them to assess the activities and technical equipment of the university.

It should be noted that Abay KazNPU - the first university of the country - is actively preparing for the new academic year. At present, academic buildings and dormitories are being renovated, they are being equipped with new equipment and furniture for classrooms and co-working centres, the work on digitalisation of all processes and creation of comfortable conditions for teachers and students continues, the task of modernisation of the entire university complex is set.

The rector noted that the buildings of Abay KazNPU - built from the late 19th century to the 80s of the last century, so active work is being done to upgrade the infrastructure of the university with the preservation of the features of historical buildings and elements of internal decor. 

"Last year we improved living conditions for 3,500 students by providing them with places in hostels and dormitories. In the new academic year, we are also ready to provide our incoming students with dormitories; we are planning to reconstruct the academic building into a dormitory, and we are searching for investors to build dormitories. We attach great importance to the development of infrastructure of all seven institutes and modernisation of the educational process, which will allow us to meet the needs of our students to the maximum," Bilyalov said.

The Minister also visited the university`s Admissions Committee and familiarised himself with the process of work and creative examinations at the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sport. He wished good luck to the work of the Admission Commission and emphasised the importance of providing opportunities for higher education for the youth of the country. Investment in education and development of higher education is a priority for the government of Kazakhstan, said S. Nurbek and expressed confidence in the implementation of strategic plans for the development of Abai University.
