Working visit by a delegation from the Korean National Institute of International Education (NIIED)

On September 18, 2023, Abai University was visited by a delegation from the Republic of Korea. The delegation was met by Director of the Department of International Cooperation Zh.Baynazar, Director of the Institute of Philology A.V.Tanzharykova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work A.A.Naimanbayev, Head of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation N.N.Konkabayeva, lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation N.S. Nam. The delegation included ​ Na Hyangwook, Department of Planning and Coordination, Kim Na Yun, Head of TOPIK Management Team, Seol Yongbae, Assistant director of​ Global Talent Support Team, Jung Min Gee, Assistant director of​ Study in Korea Team.

The following issues were discussed during the meeting:

1) Provision of GKS (government Korean scholarship) government scholarships for foreigners to study in Korea;

2) Korean language proficiency exam (TOPIK);

3) international exchange in the field of education;

4) Attracting and supporting international students to Korea.

Also during the meeting, the delegation got acquainted with the work of the volunteer teacher Bae Munki at Abai University. Such as in what environment and in what working conditions is a seconded employee in Kazakhstan, living conditions for foreign teachers, evaluate work with students, etc. As a result of the meeting, the Korean side was able to see the comfortable environment created by the department for the teacher, the interest and delight of students in the lessons of Bae Munki.
