23.10.2023 Kypchak on the throne of Egypt
On October 20, 2023, a round table was held at the Abai University on the topic "Kypchak on the throne of Egypt", dedicated to the 800th anniversary of Sultan al-Zahir Baybars, the son of the Kazakh steppe, heroically famous in history. The organizer was the Chair of Oriental Philology and Translation. Some famous scientists were invited to the event and made presentations.
In particular: Director of the Department of Science and Innovation of the Egyptian University of Islamic Culture Nur-Mubarak I.M. Paltore, famous Mamluk scholar, diplomat, author of several books about Sultan Baybars Kairat Saki, Professor of the Department of Oriental Studies of the Eurasian National University Akzhigit Alibekovich, Head of the Department of Political Science and socio-philosophical disciplines of the Institute of History and Law of Abai University, Professor Zh.K.Simtikov, Professor of the Department of World History M.K.Tulekova and students were also present.
The round table, opened by the director of the Institute of Philology, Professor A.V.Tanzharykova, this event was held at a high level, full of new data, scientific and educational meaning. We can say that interesting facts about Sultan az-Zahir Beybarys, who was brought into slavery from the Kypchak steppes and elevated to the rank of ruler on Egyptian soil, delighted many. Detailed information about the life history of our ancestor was presented with slides and supplemented by a film about Sultan Baybars.
During the event, another book by Mamluk scholar Kairat Saki was presented in Russian. In connection with this event, student questionnaires were also presented, informed about the people`s opinion about Sultan Baybars.
The round table was moderated by senior lecturer of the Department of Oriental Philology and Translation R.K.Orazova, who reviewed the life of Sultan Baybars.
Overall, it was an informative round table that was enjoyable for the audience and participants expressed their gratitude. During the event, the organizers achieved their goals.
