Open lecture by a Korean language teacher

On November 20, 2023, an open lecture was held at the Chair of Eastern Philology and Translation by an associate professor, PhD, a teacher with extensive experience at Kazakh Ablai Khan University of International Relations and World Languages - Nelly Chanirovna Khan for 2-3 year students of the specialty "Teacher of Eastern (Korean) language with English." Khan Nelly Chanirovna graduated from Abai University, Korean department and she is a successful example of a university graduate. The head of the department N.N.Konkabaeva introduced the lecturer to the students and gave her a letter of thanks at the end of the event.

The open lecture was devoted to the topic "Features of intercultural communication with representatives of South Korea". Despite the fact that Kazakhstan and Korea are eastern countries, there is a big difference in the mentality and culture of the two peoples. Students were interested to know the peculiarities of communication with South Koreans, why they behave differently in the same situations, etc. The lecture raised a lot of questions and clarified the peculiarities of Korean behaviour and thinking, which brought our students closer to understanding this nation and this foreign country.
