III International Student Olympiad in Natural Sciences among Pedagogical Students

On April 27-28, 2024, the III International Student Olympiad in Natural Sciences among students of pedagogical specialties, organized by the Institute of Natural science and geography of Abay KazNPU, was held at the Republican educational and health center "Baldauren" in Konaev city.

The goal of the Olympiad is to create favorable conditions for the intellectual development, professional growth of youth and popularization of the teaching profession, as well as to help raise students` awareness of the importance of sustainable development and climate change, stimulate learning, research and practical application of concepts and solutions aimed at ensuring a sustainable future for humanity and planets.

Vice-Rector for strategy and internationalization Aigul Iskakova, Director of the institute of natural science and geography Kulyash Kaimuldinova, Director of the republican educational and health center "Baldauren" Zharkynai Khadzhimukhanova spoke at the opening of the Olympiad.

The following 13 teams took part in this event, each consisting of three participants:

1. Tashkent State Pedagogical University named after Nizami;

2. Kazakh National Women`s Pedagogical University;

3. Eurasian National University named after L.N. Gumilyov;

4. Termez State University;

5. Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt ata;

6. Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan;

7. Kyrgyz State University named after Ishenaly Arabaev;

8. South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after Ozbekili Zhanibekov;

9. Andijan State University named after Z.M. Babura;

10. Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai;

11. Aktobe Regional University named after K. Zhubanov;

12. Termez State Pedagogical Institute;

13. South Kazakhstan University named after M. Auezov.

The Olympiad consisted of 3 stages: 1st - presentation of the teams on the topic "Pedagogy unites us", at the 2nd stage they wrote an essay of at least 500 words on topics on teaching methods and issues of sustainable development, and the task of the 3rd stage There was a case defense on the topic "Climate Change and Sustainable Development". Over the course of two days, students demonstrated their knowledge and activity.

According to the results of the competition of future teachers, the team took first place Kyzylorda University named after Korkyt Ata, second place was shared by the teams of Termez State University and South Kazakhstan Pedagogical University named after Ozbekili Zhanibekov, third place was shared by the teams of Pavlodar Pedagogical University named after Alkey Margulan, Andijan State University named after Z.M. Babur and the Abai University.

We sincerely believe that during these two days the participants not only demonstrated their knowledge and strengthened their competitive spirit, but also gained valuable experience in international communication in a friendly and joyful atmosphere.
