Students of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay successfully completed a year of training within the framework of dual educational programme

02.05.2024 was held a conference on the results of industrial training of students-interns of the school-dual partner - School of new generation NGS.  Within the framework of the innovative dual education programme "6B01303-Elementary Education with Information and Communication Technologies", second year students of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai (KazNPU) demonstrate impressive results in professional training. Mentors - teachers of the school, Rufina Khisamutdinova, spoke at the conference. Director of the Department of Academic Achievement of primary schools, Raushan Bekmuratova - head of practice of students of dual group, student mentor and primary school teacher, pedagogical expert. Asel Akpayeva is the group`s adviser and developer of the apprenticeship programme. 

The programme, which was piloted in 2022 with the support of KAZDUAL`s ERASMUS+ project, focuses on intensive practical interaction with the learning process in primary grades. Students carried out a range of diagnostic activities with children, including examining the development of memory, attention, speech and mathematical thinking. These activities allowed students to apply and develop professional skills in a real learning environment.

Of particular note was the organization and delivery of a STEM Festival for younger pupils, which included interactive activities and workshops designed to stimulate interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Already in the second year, students were conducting trial lessons and developing notes, demonstrating their ability to integrate theoretical knowledge into practical activities.

The programme of industrial training for second-year students also emphasized that university teachers successfully integrate students` participation in competitions and interaction with schoolchildren into their disciplines, thus linking theoretical training with practical activities. This year such teachers of the Department of Primary Education as candidate of pedagogical sciences, professor Larisa Lebedeva within the discipline of the basics of renewed language education, master, senior teacher Ekaterina Ryabova within the discipline of the basics of science education, professor Asel Akpaeva - basics of renewed mathematics education, ICT in the teaching of school disciplines.

Doctor of pedagogical sciences, professor Aziya Zhumabayeva notes:  "We at KazNPU attach great importance to the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical experience, and our dual education programme is an excellent example of this approach. The success of our students in on-the-job training confirms that early immersion in a professional environment facilitates deeper understanding and application of the knowledge gained. The lessons and diagnostic techniques they have developed demonstrate their ability to innovate and adapt to the requirements of the modern educational process. All this is made possible through close co-operation with practical sites and the commitment of our teaching staff to the goals of dual training".
