World University Ranking THE WUR 2025: Results Released

The global university ranking THE WUR 2025 has been released, featuring 2,860 educational institutions from 115 countries. The primary aim of this ranking is to identify the world`s leading universities in terms of their research capabilities. The top three this year are Oxford University, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Harvard University.

The Kazakhstani higher education sector is represented by 23 universities, of which 4 were included in the ranked list; the rest were assigned Reporter status. Universities were excluded from the ranked list due to an inadequate number of publications that meet the methodological criteria, as the "Quality of Research" indicator carries a weight of 30%. A primary focus for the teaching staff today is the gradual and consistent increase in publications in international scientific journals indexed by the SCOPUS database from Elsevier.
