The event dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Herold Belger

On 29 October 2024, the German House of Almaty hosted the Belger readings on "The Work of Gerold Belger in the World Literary Context". The event was held offline and online so that a wide audience was gathered. The readings were held as part of the events dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Gerold Karlovich Belger.

From the Russian Language and Literature Department of Abai KazNPU with a report made by Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor Zh.B. Ibrayeva. She noted Gerold Belger`s profound knowledge of languages, his uniqueness as a polylingual writer who created works in different languages, and his skill in creating amazing multi-lingual texts. According to Ibrayeva, a key feature of Belger`s work imbued with Eurasianism, is his subtle linguistic sensibility and ability to connect artistic material with the cultural traditions of different peoples. In his works, he often used quotations, aphorisms and phraseological phrases in different languages, which gave the text versatility and depth.

The report was also presented by Diana Karimova, a master`s student in the 1st year of the speciality "Philology", who researched the works of Gerold Belger.
