Kazakh Culture Day at the University of Illinois (USA)  

On October 28, 2024, faculty members of the Russian Language and Literature Department at Abai KazNPU, Bolashak scholarship recipients - F. M. Erzhanova, G. E. Zhandykeeva, S. K. Serikova, and A. B. Umarova - participated in the "Intercultural Spotlight: Kazakhstan" event held at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. This year, members of Kazakhstan`s academic community were the first to represent their country before foreign colleagues, faculty, and administrators at the American university.

One of the event`s speakers, A. B. Umarova, introduced guests to Kazakhstan`s national culture, natural landscapes, historical monuments, as well as modern representatives of Kazakh culture and sports. She also discussed innovative platforms and technologies developing within the country. The participants presented Kazakhstan`s education system, shared their research experience, and highlighted professional development opportunities, emphasizing the strong support provided by the state for scientists.

Traditional Kazakh dishes were presented to the participants at the event. They were presented with souvenirs and Kazakhstani chocolate. The event aroused great interest from the participants in Kazakhstan and its culture. Many guests expressed a desire to learn the Kazakh language and get acquainted with the rich heritage of the country.
