The results of the V International Student Competition of Local History Mathematical Problems for Junior Schoolchildren are summed up


The Organising Committee of the Department of Elementary Education of the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology of Abay KazNPU on 11 November 2024 summed up the results of the V International Student Competition of Local History Mathematical Problems for Junior Schoolchildren. 

 

The jury of the competition included teachers of the department: PhD, senior lecturer Astambayeva Zhupat and candidate of pedagogical sciences, acting associate professor Bazarbekova Rabiga, as well as teachers of pedagogical universities of Russia and Kazakhstan, teachers of primary schools in Almaty and Almaty region.

 

The aim of the competition is to increase students` interest to traditions, culture and history of their native land, development of research, local history, ethnographic activity in the course of composing tasks; education of patriotic attitude to their small motherland and careful attitude to its historical and cultural heritage, as well as responsibility for its fate; identification, development and support of students who show aptitude and abilities to the method of mathematics and its study; motivation of students to teaching and methodical activity.

 

The competition was conducted remotely. The participants were divided into groups: students who did not study the methodology of mathematics and students who studied the methodology of the subject or passed this methodology. Students and students could participate independently and with a supervisor. Supervisors received letters of thanks for preparing three or more participants.

 

The tasks presented in the works included local history material covering historical, cultural, natural-climatic, geographical and socio-economic peculiarities of the native land. The mathematical content of the tasks corresponded to the programme of the school course of mathematics of primary grades, and the structure of the task was chosen by the participants themselves. The competition was organised in different nominations.

 

Students from different universities of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia participated. The total number of works was 131. R. Buketov (Karagandy, RK), Manash Kozybaev North Kazakhstan University (Petropavlovsk, RK), Moscow City Pedagogical University (Moscow, RF), Kaskelen Humanitarian-Technical College, Kuban State University (Krasnodar, RF), Fergana State University (Fergana, Uzbekistan), Kostanay Regional University named after A. Baitursynsyn (Moscow, Russia), Kostanay Regional University named after R. Gamzatov, DSPU (Makhachkala, Russia), Kaskelen Humanitarian-Technical College, Kuban State University (Krasnodar, Russia), Fergana State University (Fergana, Uzbekistan). A. Baitursynuly Regional University (Kostanai, RK), Stavropol State Pedagogical Institute (Stavropol, RF).

 

The competition was an excellent opportunity for students to demonstrate their abilities in mathematics methodology, as well as to deepen their knowledge of the culture and history of their native land. The participants gained valuable experience and motivation for teaching and methodological activities, and the winners were awarded diplomas for their merits.

 

The organisers were professors of the department Akpaeva Assel and Lebedeva Larissa, the moderators of the event were 2nd year master students: Begisheva Diana, Nasipova Ainur, Ualikhanova Zhansaya and Suleimenova Rabiga.
