KazNPU and MSPU: prospects for cooperation

On December 11, 2017 there were a working meeting wıth the rector of the University Takir Balykbaev and the rector of the Moscow State Pedagogical University Alexei Lubkov.

The special significance of the meeting was due to the fact that KazNPU named after Abai and MSPU are co-founders of the Eurasian Association of Pedagogical Universities (EAPU, Association). The beginning of the creation of the Association, as known, was laid in May 2015 at a meeting of rectors of pedagogical universities of CIS countries in Almaty.

The meeting was attended by about 50 rectors from the Russian Federation, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Armenia, who unanimously decided to establish an association of pedagogical universities of the countries participating in the Eurasian Economic Union. Moscow Pedagogical State University and Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was commissioned to become its official founders.

In June 2016, the EAPU was registered by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation. Today, 44 pedagogical universities from Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kirghizia and Armenia are members of EAPU.

At the meeting of the rectors-heads of the EAPU, which was held in the main building of the Moscow State Pedagogical University, a great friendly conversation took place on the current state of business relations and on the prospects for cooperation. It was confirmed that reliable multilateral partnerships have been established between our universities, which include joint work in the educational and scientific spheres and in the activities of the established Association.

In connection with the upcoming celebration of the 90th anniversary of the Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University was invited to hold a scientific conference in October 2018 with the participation of all EAPU members to discuss issues related to the development of integration processes in the pedagogical education of the Eurasian Economic Union countries.

At the meeting the rectors supported the initiative of the EAPU Board to hold the second international competition of young teachers of pedagogical institutes "Pedagogical Beginning" in 2018.

An important result of the meeting was also the agreement of the rectors to conclude a bilateral agreement on cooperation in the near future, as well as to hold a meeting of rectors of the leading pedagogical universities of the Eurasian Economic Union member countries in April 2018 in Almaty.
