ABAI KAZNPU AT THE INTERNATIONAL QS EURASIA FORUM 2025 IN TASHKENT

 

On November 25-26 a delegation from Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University, headed by Chairman of the Board - Rector B.A. Tilep, took part in the international QS Eurasia Forum 2025, held at Central Asian University in Tashkent and bringing together ministers, rectors, and experts from leading universities across Eurasia. The forum, united under the theme “Broadening Horizons: Building Global Bridges in Higher Education,” is dedicated to strengthening international cooperation, developing research collaborations, and creating a globally competitive educational environment.


Opening the forum, Nunzio Quacquarelli, President of QS Quacquarelli Symonds, highlighted the growing role of Eurasia in the global educational landscape. According to him, the region is not only actively engaged in global academic dialogue but is also becoming one of the drivers shaping the future of higher education, thanks to strengthened international connections, technological advancement, and talent development.


During the plenary sessions, key statements were made defining the strategic direction of higher education development in the region. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, emphasized that Kazakhstan is enhancing its international positioning and aims to attract 150 000 foreign students by 2029 by expanding English-medium programs, developing research infrastructure, and strengthening partnerships with leading foreign universities. He stressed that building a modern educational ecosystem requires bold reforms and active participation in global academic processes.


The event served as a platform for discussing how universities in the region are building partnerships with both East and West, improving their positions in global rankings, advancing scientific cooperation, and adapting to future challenges. The Abai KazNPU delegation presented the university’s experience in internationalization, modernization of educational programs, expansion of academic mobility, and enhancement of research potential. Chairman of the Board - Rector B.A. Tilep’s participation in discussions with university leaders from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Kazakhstan contributed to developing new contacts and exploring potential areas of cooperation, including joint projects, researcher exchanges, and participation in QS ranking initiatives.


Participation in the QS Eurasia Forum 2025 became an important step in strengthening Abai KazNPU’s international status. The forum opened new prospects for deepening cooperation with foreign partners, developing scientific projects, attracting international students, and improving positions in global rankings. The outcomes of the meetings and negotiations will allow the university to strengthen its integration into the global educational space and contribute to the development of higher education in Eurasia.
