Kazakh-Russian seminar «Pedagogical STEM-park»

 

On 17 March 2018 at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University in the framework of realization of the Message of President Nursultan Nazarbayev to people of Kazakhstan «New opportunities of development in the conditions of the fourth industrial revolution» and support the State Program «Digital Kazakhstan» was held the international Kazakh-Russian seminar «Teaching the STEM-park».

As is known, STEM is a union of such components as Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, and «Pedagogical STEM-park» is a new format of partnership interaction of the education, science and business system.

The purpose of the international seminar was to discuss the integration of STEM park technologies and the educational process carried out at the Pedagogical University, as well as the creation of a STEM-laboratory on digital robotics and mechatronics at KazNPU.

The international seminar was attended by the rector Takir Balykbaev, Corresponding Member of RAE, Professor of Moscow State Pedagogical University, Sergei Grigoriev, Vice-Rector Maktagali Bektemesov, head of the international scientific laboratory of informatization of education issues and education technologies Professor Esen Bidaybekov, professor Bakhytzhan Akhmetov, Director of Regional Development of CJSC «Didactic Systems» Vladimir Fedotov, head of a group of CNC machine tools Sergey Kislitsa, head of the representative office of CJSC Didactic Systems in Kazakhstan Muslim Kasimdzhanov , General Director of «Brain Development» Ckazochkin Leonid, head of development department Dmitry Ustinskov, head of the representation of «Brain Development» in Kazakhstan Arman Karimzhanov representatives of Satpayev KazNTU, Kazakh NU, director of the school-lyceum «Turan» Gulnar Iskakova, teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual School of chemical and biological directions and the Republican Physics and Mathematics School.

In opening remarks, rector Takir Balykbayev reminded that the first international seminar «Digital University» was held on 21 - 23 February of this year and was successful. Based on its results, the goals and objectives of the Digital Pedagogical University were determined, as well as ways of training teachers for the effective use of digital technologies in education. Takir Balykbaev noted that the second seminar «Teaching STEM-Park» aims to discuss ways of introducing STEM-training in pedagogical high school, and the immediate task is to create in our university STEM-park (or STEM-center) that would facilitate the development of digital education, training bachelors and undergraduates in the additional specialty «Computer science and Robotics», the introduction of an elective course for all natural sciences specialties in digital robotics and STEM-training and discipline «Digital technology in education» for all pedagogical specialties. The implementation of these tasks will ensure the training of highly qualified cadres on digital technologies related to the basic elements of the fourth industrial revolution, such as automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, the exchange of «large data».

At the seminar, presentations were made by the professor of Moscow Pedagogical University, Sergei Grigoriev (Technology Integration STEM-park in the educational process of pedagogical university: the teachers training), Director of Regional Development of CJSC «Didactic Systems» Vladimir Fedotov (Sprouts new technological generation) and others.

Within the framework of the seminar, a master class «Robotrack» was also organized, dedicated to the ways of using the Robotrek kits for working with children of different ages.
