Meeting of the rector with the university team

On 7 February 2018, the rector of the University, Professor Takir Balykbaev, met with teachers and staff. The main purpose of the meeting was to discuss the prospects for the development of the University.

At the beginning of the meeting, the rector presented a short report on the work done for the first half of the 2017/2018 academic year and reviewed the significant events planned in a comprehensive plan to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Abai KazNPU.

Addressing the team, he said: «This year our university celebrates its 90th anniversary and in the course of its long history the university has produced more than 200 000 specialists and 3000 scientists. In honor of the 90th anniversary it is planned to hold more than 70 events. With the preparation for the anniversary, a lot of work was done. In order to provide quality service to students and provide social services to students on the principle of «one window», Center «Shapagat» was opened, repair work was carried in the canteen of the educational building №1 and the assembly hall of the educational building № 5. 517 students, who need social support, are given discounts for training in the amount of 10-50%. The legal aspects of preventive work on fighting corruption have been developed. According to the code of «Academic honesty» In order to improve the quality of training future specialists, as well as to change the style of work and increase the motivation for self-development of the staff, a new form of professional development was organized for the first time from January 8 to 18 of the current year - the Winter School «Proffism and pedagogical mastery». The «Univer» system has been launched».

Then the meeting went into the format of a free microphone. During the dialogue, teachers and staff could ask questions and express their views on the initiatives of the University leadership. In general, the meeting participants positively assessed the proposals of the rector on the further development of the university, the improvement of the university buildings and adjacent territories, and the social support of students.
