05.07.2018 Seminar on the adaptation of freshmen
On 25 - 29 June, 2018 on the initiative of the rector of the University, the summer school "Pedagogical Education: Skills of the Future" was organized in order to improve the qualifications of the teaching staff.
The summer school included in its program 8 sessions on the planning of the educational process and practice, the work of the system "Univer", distance learning, the formation of the student contingent, the adaptation of first-year students. The main coordinator of the summer school was the Center for Advanced Studies and Distance Learning.
As part of the work of the school on 29 June, 2018, the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy held a seminar on "Implementation of Abai KazNPU Strategy for Adaptation of First-year Students".
Alexander Semchenko opened the seminar, Deputy Director of the Center for Advanced Studies and Distance Learning, and wished all the participants a fruitful work.
The seminar was continued by Kazyna Bekbenbetova, deputy director of Department for Educational,social work and youth policy. In her speech, she noted the importance of a multifactorial and multidimensional process of adaptation of first-year students. She told the participants about the socio-cultural aspects of the adaptation of first-year students to the conditions of study at the university: she acquainted with the role and directions of the mentors` activity in the process of adaptation of first-year students, with cultural-mass, preventive, psychological and pedagogical activities conducted at the university, which are conducive to the formation of high social, civic activity and professionalism of future specialists.
Further, psychological specialists of the Psychology of Personality Center headed by academician Zhamilya Namazbayeva conducted a psychological training on the social and psychological adaptation of first-year students.
The seminar was concluded by the speech of the chairman of the Committee for Youth Affairs, Didarbek Dildabek, who reported on the activities of the Committee, the councils of student self-government institutes, as well as acting student clubs and circles.
Over 70 instructors and activists of the university took part in the seminar. At the end of the seminar, all participants received the "Code of Academic Integrity" and "Directory -Guide to the Student".
