International scientific and practical seminar "Trends in the development of university libraries in the context of digital globalization"

 

On April 26 - 27, 2018, the International Scientific and Practical Seminar for Heads and Specialists of Higher Education Libraries "Trends in the Development of Higher Educational Institutions in the Context of Digital Globalization" was held, dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Abai KazNPU.

 

The Republican Scientific Pedagogical Library of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Scientific Library of Abai KazNPU organized the seminar.

 

In the plenary part of the seminar, Gabit Kenzhebaev, vice-rector for teaching and methodological work, greeted the participants of the seminar. He noted the importance of this seminar and the special role of libraries in developing the intellectual potential of our country. Ayman Nasyrova, Director of the Republican Scientific and Pedagogical Library of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, also addressed the seminar participants with a welcoming speech and awarded diplomas of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the best workers of the libraries of universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, among them the director of the scientific library Nurgul Imansidykova and the expert manager of the scientific library Naila Seksenbayeva were noted.

 

The plenary reports were made by Topol Mehmet, Professor of the Department of Informatization of Culture and Electronic Libraries of the Moscow State Institute of Culture Vadim Stepanov (Russian Federation, Moscow), Professor, Doctor of Kozha Akhmet Yasaui International Kazakh-Turkish University Toplou Mehmet Scientific Library of K. Karasayev Bishkek Humanitarian University Roza Turdukeyeva (Kyrgyz Republic, Bishkek).

 

On the second day there were discussion sessions of the seminar, where the leaders of libraries of the RK actively participated and exchanged experience. In general, the program of the seminar included more than 50 reports of cultural workers, educators and library leaders in Kazakhstan, Russia, Kyrgyzstan, Turkey and China.
