Start of the competition of scientific projects for primary school students in Almaty

On December 18, 2024, the faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology, the Department of Primary Education announced the start of the III competition of scientific projects for primary school students in Almaty city and region.

The competition is open to students in grades 1-4 of educational institutions who have prepared a research paper or project, the structure of which meets the Requirements outlined in the competition Regulations. Competition will be on a voluntary basis.

The competition is held in two age groups: Grades 1-2 and Grades 3-4 in the following subject areas:

- educational projects and research in subject fields: Mathematics, Russian (Kazakh, English) language, Literary reading, Visual arts, Labor education, Physical education, Music, World knowledge, Natural sciences, Digital literacy;

- Social projects.

The main goals and objectives of the Competition are the comprehensive development of the intellectual potential of schoolchildren; involving them in research activities in various fields of science, technology, culture; development of skills in design, scientific, analytical work; practical application of knowledge gained in the learning process; organizational, methodological support for students inclined towards research activities.

It is recommended to hold a school-level round and select works between February 1 to 10. The protocol of the school round should include recommendations for participation in the semifinals.

From February 10 to March 1, schoolchildren can improve their projects based on feedback from the school round, obtain review from scientific supervisor (students, master`s students, teachers, teachers of additional education, parents) and external reviews (methodologists, university teachers or scientists in the project field).

From March 1 to 10, 2025 projects can be submitted for the semifinal stage via the registration form. All semifinal  participants will receive certificates of appreciation.

From March 10 to March 30, 2025 a commission consisting of teachers, master`s students and doctoral students of Abay University`s FPP, partner universities and schoolteachers from Almaty, will review the works to select those for the final and public presentation. Finalists will receive diplomas of the winners (for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places).

The public defense and award ceremony will take place from April 1 to 10 at Abai University.
