The opening of the center «Parasat»

On October 7, 2019, the Parasat Center was opened at Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University together with the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty.

The event was attended by the chairman of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alik Shpekbayev and the head of the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, Kairat Suntaev, as well as representatives of the Anti-Corruption Service of Almaty and the university leadership.

The purpose of the new unit is to prevent possible corruption in the field of education, the formation of an anti-corruption worldview, an anti-corruption culture and inculcation of integrity principles for the younger generation, as well as the implementation of a project to develop and implement anti-corruption management systems in accordance with the requirements of the international standard. In its work, the center will liaise with the Republican project office «Sanaly Urpaq», the project «Almaty - Adaldyk alany», the Department of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Almaty, the Akimat of Almaty, with representatives of youth organizations and the media.

Rector Takir Balykbaуev spoke about the upcoming activities of this center and strategy, about anti-corruption standards of behavior for teachers, administrative staff, about the anti-corruption commission and the Anti-corruption Council at the university, about the development of a system for assessing the activities of teachers and students, ways to ensure information transparency, application and implementation of decisions, as well as digitalization of the university.

The «Parasat» Center is an independent structural unit of Abai KazNPU, operating on the basis of the concept and standard for combating corruption. The «Parasat» Center will conduct its work as part of the recommendations of the republican project office «Sanaly Urpaq».

During the event, the participants were introduced to the work of the «Shapagat» digital student service center.
