Literary evening dedicated to Abai

A literary evening dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the great Kazakh poet and thinker Abay was held at the Department of the Penitentiary system in Almaty. Opening the event, the Deputy Head of the Department, Colonel of Justice Azamat Iztileuov, noted that for employees of internal organs there is something to learn from Abay Kunanbaev: all his works, and especially «Words of edification», are permeated with love for his people and native land.

The honorary guest of the evening, the director of the Hakim Abay research center at our university, Zhabal Shoyinbet, gave a lot of interesting information about Abay`s life and work. Zhabal Shoyynbet, noting the work of the country`s abaologists, also spoke in detail about the work carried out in the center, where he works.
