Abai KazNPU delegation took part in the General Conference of UNESCO

On November 12, 2019, a meeting of education ministers of the participating countries was held in Paris as part of the UNESCO General Conference, in which the rector of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University Takir Balykbaуev took part.

Over 100 ministers of higher education attended the event. They discussed inclusion and mobility issues in higher education. Conference participants also exchanged experiences and opinions.

As part of a trip to France that ended on November 17, Takir Balykbaуev held talks with heads of foreign universities. The Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU A.A.Sabitova and K. Buteye, attended the negotiations.

Representatives of the Abai KazNPU also visited the Sorbonne: INALCO and the Sorbonne Pantheon University. During meetings with the heads of these institutions, Takir Balykbaуev discussed issues of further cooperation and invited them to participate in the Kazakh-French forum, which will be held next year and will be devoted to issues of law and digitalization.

A meeting was also held with President of the University of Poitiers Yves Jean. The meeting was attended by the Director of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute of Abai KazNPU, a professor at the University of Poitiers, responsible for interaction with the universities of Central Asia at the Faculty of Literature and Languages at the University of Poitiers, Lucia Bugini, responsible for international cooperation, Philippe Rojon. The parties discussed the prospects for joint work in various areas.

As a result, the parties agreed on further cooperation between the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute and the aforementioned French universities, further ways of implementing existing programs and creating new joint projects were identified.

Rector Takir Balykbaуev and the directors of the Abai KazNPU SKI met with undergraduates from the Department of International Law and the Department of Economic Specialties of the Sorbonne-Kazakhstan Institute, who undergo a research internship at the University of Poitiers.

This trip of the Abai KazNPU delegation was successful and productive.
