14.08.2021 The «Modernisation of Teacher Education» session discussed the most topical issues of the sector
On August 12, 2021, a panel session on «Modernisation of Teacher Education» was held at Astana IT University as part of the August Conference of Educators. Darhan Bilyalov, Rector of Abai KazNPU, took part in the event as a reporter.
The panel session was also attended by representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science of Kazakhstan, heads, scientists and teachers of universities, educational departments, colleges and schools, independent experts in the field of education. The moderator was Associate Professor of Comparative, International and Developmental Education Sarfaroz Niezov (OISE, University of Toronto, Canada).
In the programme of the session the speakers focused on the following current education issues: the update of the professional standard of teachers to meet the modern requirements and the logic of the renewal of the content of secondary education, the national model for training school teachers, teaching staff, improving the status of teachers, professional development of young teachers, quality and methods of teaching, strengthening the connection with school, the image of the national education system, creating a psychological service in schools, trilingual education of teachers.
In his speech Rector Darkhan Bilyalov noted the importance of the conference and its effectiveness as representatives from different fields of education are involved in discussion on modernization of teacher education. He stressed the importance of shaping pre-service and in-service teachers` professional profile, linking it with vocational training, emotional intelligence and parental guidance, and motivating school teachers to grow professionally.
In online dialogue and discussion platforms education experts were given the opportunity to share their professional experience in modern teacher education practices.
Discussing important aspects of teacher education system development, the participants of the section identified further priorities aimed at the formation of quality education, ability to interact widely and flexibly in the regional and global spaces.
