What should you know about human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)?

On November 3, 2021, the Department of Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy of Abai KazNPU organised a lecture on «HIV prevention». The event was opened by the director of the Department, Kazyna Bekbenbetova, who spoke about the work being done at the university to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Madina Usenkul, a physician-epidemiologist at the Almaty AIDS Centre, gave a lecture on «HIV and its prevention» and talked about the causes and consequences of infectious diseases. The students were given detailed information on HIV prevention and the dangers of immune deficiency.

According to the statistics, 80% of HIV infected people in the world today are 19-25 years old.

The lecture on HIV prevention increased the students` knowledge on healthy lifestyles.
