The head of state signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On the status of a teacher»

President of the country Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev signed the Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On the status of a teacher». This document was developed on the initiative of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan - the Leader of the Nation N.A. Nazarbayev.

The law determines the status of the teacher and establishes his rights, social guarantees and restrictions, obligations and responsibilities.

The main idea of the draft law was to create conditions for professional development and increase the competitiveness of teachers, increase the status of a teacher, stimulate them, to reduce the burden on teachers, protecting them from performing unusual functions, freeing up time for self-development and creativity.

The Law of the Republic of Kazakhstan «On the status of a teacher» contains measures aimed at increasing wages and the period of labor leave, additional payments for pedagogical skills, the introduction of additional payments for mentoring.

The bill gives the regional akims the authority to independently provide teachers with material support, based on the budget.

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan will directly monitor the implementation of the new sectoral law, which entered into force on the day of its publication in the country`s media.
