Riga Technical University delegation visited Abai KazNPU

On 27th January, 2020, Abai KazNPU Director of the Institute of Mathematics, Informatics and Physics, Murat Bekpatshayev hosted the Riga Technical University delegation (Latvia), head of the Chair of Software Engineering, Professor Aleksejs Jurenoks, and lecturer Julia Svintitska as well as Gulnur Salem, representative of Alpha Robot Kazakhstan, Riga Technical University business partner.

The aim of the meeting: cooperation in research and implementation of results on the concept of teaching computer science and robotics methodology for schools and kindergartens.

Professor Aleksejs Jurenoks collaborates with a huge network of schools and kindergartens in Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania (more than 600 institutions). Business partner Alpha Robot Kazakhstan introduces the European methodology in the educational process in kindergartens and schools in our country.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere with the presence of the teaching staff of the Institute of Mathematical, IT and Physics as well as Pedagogical and Physiology Institute, where there was acquaintance with the robot and visual aid for working with children.

Finally, it was offered to consider of involving issues of cooperation between the two universities and a business partner in Kazakhstan, and stressed interest of opening and equipping a robotics office in the STEM park of Abai KazNPU by and supporting one year of work of the project responsible through funding from European partners. Kazakhstan partner offered funding for internships/practices in kindergartens, schools in Almaty for students, master and doctoral students of Abai KazNPU.
