Literary and musical evening «Alystan sermep, Zhurekten terbep...»

On February 20, 2020, in the main building of the university in honor of the 175th anniversary of Abay, a literary and musical evening «Alystan sermep, Zhurekten terbep...» was held. Organizers - Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy,  Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education in conjunction with the Department of Kazakh Language and Literature named after Academician S. Kirabaev.

The evening was attended by the First Vice-Rector of Abai KazNPU Maktagali Bektemessov, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Assan Satmyrzaev, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs and International Cooperation Aktolkyn Kulsariyeva, Advisor to the Rector Kopzhasar Naribayev, Vice-rector for educational work and social development Zhanatbek Ishpekbaev, Director of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education named after Baltabai Abdigazyuly, head of the Kazakh language and literature department named after Kirabayev Kalbike Esenova.

The evening was opened by the first vice-rector Maktagali Bektemesov, who, noting the huge contribution of Abay to the development of the Kazakh people, called the great steppe poet and philosopher the wise mankind. Teachers of the Kazakh language and literature department named after S. Kirabaev in a choral performance sang Abay`s song «The Bright Moon on a Silent Night», the assistant professor was Svetlana Balagazova. Students of the institute showed scenes from the life of the poet, accompanying them with playing the national instruments Kylkobyz and Zhetygen. This performance has become a true decoration of the evening. The video «Abai in the Languages of the World» caused a special impression on the audience, in which the teachers of the department read poetry in seven languages. Then the ethno-pop group «Girls of the Great Steppe» performed the song «Country-land-mother». The concert was completed by a song «Kozimnin karasy» performed by students of the institute. The literary and musical evening dedicated to the anniversary of Abay Kunanbayev was very rich, thorough and informative.
