An invaluable heritage of Abai

 

On the initiative of the University`s Student Rectorate, the winners of «Abai assyl murasy» video competition were awarded on 20 November 2020 as part of the 175th anniversary of Abai and the Year of Abai announced at our University. The event took place in an online format.


According to the rules and conditions of the competition, its participants from October 20 to November 15, 2020, sent in electronic form their creative works, in which they expressively read the poems of the great Kazakh poet. On November 18, the members of a special commission, which included specialists from the Institute of Philology and multilingual Education, Center for Support of Youth Initiatives and the «Mansap» Center, viewed all the videos. They determined the winners of the competition.

 

The solemn event was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Asan Satmyrzaev, Advisor to the Rector for Youth Affairs Maksat Zhakauov, Chairman of the Committee for Youth Affairs Didarbek Dildabek, writer Rahimberdy Zhetybay, and Director of the Centre for Support of Youth Initiatives «Smart Student» Yermukan Nurman.

 

Vice-Rector A.A.Satmyrzaev emphasized that the anniversary of the great Abai Kunanbayev, marked by various events, was an important milestone in the modernization of public consciousness of Kazakhstanis. He also said that despite the pandemic, the University leadership pays great attention to educational activities, directing efforts to popularize the heritage of Abai, especially its edification, reflecting universal spiritual and moral values, among the younger generation. At the end, the Vice-Rector thanked the participants on behalf of the rectorate.

 

Approximately 70 works were submitted to the competition, including four master`s students and 66 bachelor`s students.

 

As a result, 2nd student of the Institute of Philology and multilingual Education Tleukhan Zhansaia, 2nd year student of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports Arman Tuashev, 1st year student of the Institute of Mathematics, Physics and Informatics Akimov Akimzhan took 3rd place.

 

The 2nd place is taken by Jastlek Nadia, a 1st year student at the Institute of History and Law, and Akbayan Kampit, a 2nd year student at the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education.

 

The 1st place winner is Iosifova Aruzhan, a 1st year student of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education.

 

All the prizewinners were awarded special certificates by the university rector and valuable prizes. The best works will be grouped into a special video clip and published on social networks and the University website, and their authors will be included in the autumn issue of the student magazine «Campus».
