Abai University is ranked in the top 201-250 in two programmes
in the QS World University Ranking by Subject-2021

Abai KazNPU for the first time was ranked in the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021 and has strengthened its position among pedagogical universities not only in the republic, but also in the CIS

Abai KazNPU (Abai University), keeping with its main strategic development objective for 2020-2025, as well as the course of transformation into a national research university, successfully started in the world subject ranking "QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021". Abai KazNPU was included in the group 201-250 of the subject ranking with the following subject areas (Subject) "English Language and Literature" of the subject area "Art and Humanities" and "Education" of the subject area "Social Sciences and Management".

In the QS World University Ranking by Subject 2021, 1,453 universities from 157 countries have been ranked in 5 areas (wide-area) subject areas:
"Natural Sciences", "Social Sciences and Management", "Arts and Humanities", "Life Sciences and Medicine", "Technical Sciences and Engineering" in 51 subject areas (narrow subject area). Abai KazNPU is the only university among universities of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which was included in the subject ranking in the specialty "Education".

The methodology of the rating is based on four key indicators: Hirsch index of the university in the subject (field); citation of publications in the subject (field); reputation on the part of employers; reputation on the part of the academic community. In the QS subject ranking "WUR by Subject 2021", the university`s Hirsch index in subject(s) of cited publications was compiled based on an analysis of over 13.9 million articles (cited 81 million times) taken from the Scopus scientometric database. It should also be noted that the ranking is based on the opinion of more than 100,000 teachers and 50,000 employers.

The English Language and Literature specialty is ranked at 201-250 place in the world, second among Kazakhstani HEIs, and the Education specialty is ranked at 201-250 place in the world, first among Kazakhstani HEIs.

Thus, the university is one step closer to its main goal specified in Abai University`s Development Strategy 2020-2025:

"Abai University in 2025 is the leader of pedagogical education in CIS, a centre for teachers of new formation, included in:
- TOP-400 QS WUR;
- Top 200 of QS WUR / THE WUR subject ranking in Education;
- Top 400 Times Higher Education Impact Ranking".
