In Almaty, the head of MES RK A. Aimagambetov held a meeting with the heads of universities

and research institutes of the country

On September 24, 2021, in Almaty, Abai KazNPU, a meeting, chaired by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov, was held with rectors of universities and heads of research institutes of the country.

The agenda included issues related to the activities of higher educational institutions and research institutes.

During the event, the main shortcomings and violations revealed by the results of the audit conducted by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, data on the security and safety system in universities, the problem of providing dormitories, the progress of vaccination of teaching staff and students, the transition of educational documents to digital format and other issues were discussed.

The heads of the research institutes provided information on the state and prospects of development of scientific organizations, the qualitative and quantitative composition of scientific personnel, on the organization of state scientific and technical expertise of projects and programs. Also discussed were the main changes in the process of conducting the SSTE, the increase in the number of articles published by research institutes in journals from the three main indices (SCIE, SSCI, AHCI) of the Web of Science database. It was also about the activities of magazines and the modernization of the material and technical base of research institutes.

After listening to all the speakers, Askhat Aimagambetov gave clear instructions to the heads of universities and research institutes to eliminate the identified problems and solve the most pressing issues of the industry. The need to control the implementation of projects and programs of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan was noted.
