Refresher courses for teachers on teaching mathematics in primary grades completed

 

From November 1 to November 11, 2021, the Republican advanced training courses «Features of the content and methods of organizing mathematics teaching in primary grades» were held for the third time. The course was developed by the authors of mathematics textbooks for primary schools, associate professors of the Professional Training Department of the EP «Primary Education» A.B. Akpayeva and L.A. Lebedeva. Together with Zh.K. Astambayeva, a senior teacher of the same department, they organized online classes with teachers, and also developed tasks for the independent work of cadets.


The goal of the program is to address difficult topics in teaching mathematics to younger students, as well as to develop online teaching skills using various digital resources.


Course participants - primary school teachers - will receive a certificate from the Center for Advanced Studies and Distance Education of Abai KazNPU. The training was organized in Kazakh and Russian languages. The course is designed for 80 hours. The listeners studied online, some of the tasks were carried out in the course of independent practical work with moderation. In the classroom, interactive interaction of the participants was organized. They worked together on whiteboards and in presentations, did tests, underwent tests themselves, recorded audio and video comments on assignments on various topics of the elementary school mathematics course.


Presenting their final portfolios, teachers noted that the courses helped them expand their knowledge, improve their ability to use digital resources. The form of lecturing with interactive techniques was also interesting.


The courses were attended by young and experienced teachers with extensive experience. «I would like to note the clarity, consistency of presentation, high information content of the courses, the connection between all stages of training, the practical use of new knowledge, the provision of materials (standards, presentations) for further independent work. All the material was excellently prepared, and the oral explanation was very easy to understand. I liked the courses for the accessibility of the presentation of the material, the logical structure of the lectures, and the clarity. This made it possible to understand the essence of the problem, to systematize the scattered knowledge», said teachers from Sh.Ualikhanov secondary school №18 in Shymkent Akhmedova G.Yu., Kabanova O.E. and Maksimenko S.V.
