On 15-17 December, 2016 the delegation of Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abai visited Sanya University (China). On 16 December the delegation KazNPU n.a. Abai Vice-rector for academic affairs Kulsariyeva Aktolkyn met with the president of Sanya University Mr. Lu Dan, Vice President Zoe Chen, Advisor for international cooperation and exchange Yu Xuzhong and directors of institutes. During the meeting, Professor Kulsariyeva Aktolkyn provided information about our University and President Lu Dan told about Sanya University. The sides also discussed prospects of bilateral cooperation between the two institutions. Sanya University was established in 2005, now trained here over 20 thousand students and undergraduates, in a short time this university was able to become one of Chinas leading universities. Sanya University is renowned for the quality of training of specialists in tourism, hotel business and philology. In this regard, during the meeting the prospects of exchange of experience were discussed in the field of training for the tourism industry, the development double diploma program on specialty "Tourism".

Following the meeting, the sides signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of education and research activities, discussed the idea of creating a center of the Silk Road at KazNPU n.a. Abai, designed to coordinate cooperation in the field of education and to strengthen scientific and cultural ties between Kazakhstan and China.
