Interinstitutional intellectual competition «competence of a modern teacher» dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the teacher of the nation Ybray Altynsarin

On November 19, 2021, at Abai KazNPU, within the framework of the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan`s Independence, the Department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan and the Student Assembly «Birlik» held an interinstitutional intellectual competition on the topic «Competence of a modern teacher», dedicated to the 180th anniversary of the teacher of the nation Ibray Altynsarin.

The event was attended by students from 6 institutes of the university, who passed four stages of the competition. Under the terms of the first stage on the theme «Life and work of I. Altynsarin» were invited the rector of the university D. Bilyalov, professor B. Abdigaziuly, directors of the institutes T. Kozhagulov and A. Tanzharikova, deputy directors for educational work Sh.Khamraev and A. Akzholova, heads of departments Zh.Simtikov and N. Ilyasov, educational workers of institutes K. Zhumagulova, as well as deputy director of the Department for educational, social work and youth policy D. Dildabekov. They sent their questions on video and held the first student competition. Director of the Department for Educational, Social Work and Youth Policy K. Bekbenbetova and 1st year student of the Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology T. Marchenko congratulated the participants and wished them good luck.

At the second stage, the participants of the competition received rational and clear tasks on various questions, posed in order to improve pedagogical skills; at the third stage, they determined the general cognitive outlook of students The fourth stage became the most important and meaningful sections of the competition. Each group defended their projects in order to present the «Modern Teacher» model. Among the main requirements for a competent teacher, those who singled out the services of a digital teacher, as well as methods and techniques that meet modern requirements, were especially noted.

The members of the jury - the director of the Department for educational, social work and youth policy K. Bekbenbetova, the head of the educational and methodological department T. Omirbekova, the head of the department of the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan G. Shakharman - summed up the results of the competition and awarded the winners. 1st place, the challenge cup and 20,000 KZT were won by the team «Ozgan eldin zhastary» of the Institute of Natural Science and Geography; ІІ place and 15,000 KZT - the team «Shamshyrak» of the Institute of Philology and Multilingual Education; ІІІ place and 10.000 KZT - the group «Smart teacher» of the Institute of Arts, Culture and Sports. The other three teams were awarded letters of thanks and special prizes for their active participation.

The student community expressed their proposals on the further holding of the traditional competition, since the competition cup is a challenge. The main thing is that students understand, whatever nationality they are and whatever specialty they study, in the future, following the example of I. Altynsarin, they will be able to make a huge contribution to the country`s pedagogy.
