Meeting of heads of universities and research institutes was held in Almaty

Today in Almaty there was a meeting of heads of universities and research institutes of the city, during which the parties signed an agreement on cooperation. This will strengthen the application of research results in the educational environment, will contribute to the development of research potential, and will also increase the competitiveness of young professionals.

The event was attended by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Askhat Aimagambetov. He emphasized the need for close, large-scale and multilateral integration of scientific and educational spheres, noted the experience of the leading countries of the world, which were able to quite effectively combine science and education. «This practice is very relevant for Kazakhstan. Now our universities, together with research institutes, will conduct joint training of scientific personnel. The implementation of this project will give impetus to the development of higher education, scientific activities and capacity building of research institutes», said the head of the industry department.

The rector of Abai University Darkhan Bilyalov, in turn, noted that this step will really improve the quality of higher education, the competitiveness of universities and their graduates, and make young specialists more in demand in the labor market. According to him, this is precisely the task of any university.

Within the framework of the agreement, more than 38 scientists from research institutes will be involved in Abai KazNPU in order to transfer advanced scientific knowledge to students to conduct classes, review and manage scientific projects (works) and dissertations of students. For joint training of personnel, undergraduates and doctoral students will have access to the laboratories of research institutes, and their employees - to the laboratories of universities. Now students will be able to work and do internships in the most unique scientific research institutes in the country. There will also be more than 13 joint dissertation councils, which will include employees of universities and research institutes.
