An extraordinary meeting of the EMD in the field of education «Pedagogical Sciences» REMC of the MES of the on the basis of Abai KazNPU

 

On February 18, 2022, an extraordinary meeting of the Educational and Methodological Association - the Project Management Group in the field of education «Pedagogical Sciences» was held at Abai KazNPU to review the content and format of a special exam for applicants to pedagogical areas.

 

The online event was attended by more than 90 representatives from 25 higher educational institutions of Kazakhstan that are part of the EMD in the field of education «Pedagogical Sciences» REMC MES of the RK on the basis of Abai KazNPU, including Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, heads of the admissions committee of universities, heads of departments.


The following were proposed and considered: a single format for conducting a special exam, the need for differentiation by groups of educational programs in the development of test tasks, and also, in order to form a bank of test tasks, to offer pedagogical universities to develop 50 test tasks for a special exam.

 

The meeting was moderated by Adil Baydildin, Director of the Department for Designing Educational Programs of Abai KazNPU. The authors of the special exam program Aigerim Kosherbayeva, the head of the Pedagogy and Psychology project team, and Ulmeken Nurgalieva, the Academic Secretary of EMD REMC, spoke at the meeting, as well as director of the Center for Career Guidance and Admission of students of Abai KazNPU Nurmakhan Auesbekuly.

 

In the context of the speakers` proposals on the content and format of a special exam for applicants to pedagogical areas, the participants in the meeting of the EMD REMC took an active part in the discussion of these issues.

 

As a result, the following decisions were made:
1. Approve a unified format for conducting a special exam, on a public electronic platform
2. Present a proposal to the MES RK on the minimum number of points for a special exam (5 points) before passing the UNT to participate in the competition for a state educational grant
3. Create a working group of representatives of pedagogical universities to examine test items and develop criteria for evaluating test results
4. Approve the format of the tests: a question and 5 possible answers with 1 correct one.
5. Create a common bank of test items according to the accepted format (50 tests for each attempt)
6. Approve the procedure for the special examination for applicants: registration and 2 attempts for applicants for a grant, 3 attempts for applicants on a paid basis after the competition.
