Literary lounge «Visiting Korney Chukovsky»

On April 7, 2022, the traditional literary living room of the Department of Russian Language and Literature of the Institute of Philology hosted interesting guests. The topic of the meeting was the work of the remarkable writer, literary critic and translator Korney Ivanovich Chukovsky.

Those present were greeted by Olga Moshcheeva, chief specialist-expert of the Consulate General of Russia in Almaty and the representative office of Rossotrudnichestvo. Eight-graders of the Specialized Lyceum No. 165 in Almaty offered the audience their understanding of the creative path of K. Chukovsky.

More than 70 participants of the meeting really got to visit the writer: the story of Pavel Kryuchkov, an employee of the House-Museum of Korney Chukovsky (Moscow), allowed schoolchildren, students and teachers to be transported to the writer`s village of Peredelkino, to the writer`s house, to plunge into the atmosphere of creativity, love and kindness. Young listeners learned about the difficult path of the writer, who, through hard work and faith in his rightness, overcame all the obstacles and trials of his era.

Tatyana Kostyuchenko, the leading actress of the Natalia Sats State Academic Russian Theater for Children and Youth, invited everyone to the performances based on the fairy tales of K. Chukovsky. She spoke about the favorite works of children and adults who received a new life in the theater.

The head of the department Saule Abisheva thanked all the participants and the organizer of the meeting - the chief editor of the publishing house «Almatykitap baspasy» Marina Asylbekova. She invited poetry lovers to the next literary drawing room, which will be held in a month.
