Open Day «Your choice is your future»

On April 21, 2022, the marketing department of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography held an open Day «Your choice is your future» for students of grades 10-11 of secondary schools in order to implement career guidance work. The event was attended by students from schools in Enbekshikazakh and Zhambyl districts of Almaty region, Talgar city, Medeu and Zhetysu districts of Almaty, their parents and teachers.

Kulyash Kaymuldinova, Director of the Institute of Natural Sciences and Geography, addressed the graduates and spoke about the specialists her institution of higher education trains. By the way, her fate is a great example for students: Kulyash Duisenbayevna is a well-known teacher and scientist, author of school textbooks on geography, and head of the university. Responsible persons of the marketing department Yerlan Birtalaev, Zhanar Zhaksibayeva provided information about the specialties of the institute, benefits to applicants and documents submitted to the admissions committee.

Deputy Director for Educational Work Nurlan Manapov shared the plans of the student directorate, familiarized with creative clubs, told about social benefits, dormitories and the military department.

At this event, students of 2-3 courses in biology and chemistry majors demonstrated various experimental experiments and aroused the interest of students. In the field of biology, experiments were demonstrated: «Determination of honey content», «Determination of vitamin C in sweet juices», «Determination of banana DNA». Chemists showed interesting experiments such as «Fiery foam», «Foam Explosion», «Thunderstorm in a test tube», «Volcanic Eruption» and «Pharaoh`s Snakes».

At the event, students and parents received answers to their questions, received detailed information about admission, about the conditions created for students in the learning process. After the discussion and lively discussion, a tour of the departments of the institute was held for schoolchildren. Professor of the Department of Chemistry Nesipkhan Bektenov shared the latest news and directions of research work in the field of natural sciences.

At the end of the event, the marketing staff presented gifts to the responsible representatives of the school administration who came to the Open Day.
